100 summits 3000 M

(1 avis client)

The hundred 3000 m summits presented in this book can be found in all corners of Valais. Their level of difficulty varies from T2 (a hike on a marked path) to T5 (a challenging and pathless alpine hike that requires alpine experience and a total lack of fear of heights due to some exposed terrain). For each hike detailed in this book, you will find a technical sheet, a description of the itinerary (which differs from the official one), a map with the route highlighted, and many photos.

Most of the summits are T3/T4 level hikes, but this book also contains three T2 hikes and twenty-five T5 hikes. The latter are closer to mountaineering, as they require  alpine experience.

Description

I was born in 1985 and only discovered the joys of mountain hiking later in life. It wasn’t until I went on holiday in the Pyrenees in 2013 that my love for the great
outdoors, nature, and solitude was born. My wife, Patrícia, and I immediately realized that we didn’t want to spend the rest of our lives in Portugal.

After hiking the Tour du Mont Blanc in 2014, we decided to try our luck in the Alps and moved to Monthey (Switzerland) for three years. Finally, we found our piece of paradise in Troistorrents. In 2015, I began to consider the possibility of hiking one hundred summits over 3,000 meters high, only in the Valais canton, without using any technical alpine gear. Soon, I had completed each route as if it were a simple hike. In this book, I intend to present these routes to you so you can also reach new heights!

This book is the result of several hundred hours of research on all aspects of each hike, including the itinerary and degree of difficulty, as well as a lot of time spent in the mountains (pure happiness!).
